Norbert Mueller, Ph.D.

Dr. Mueller is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan StateUniversity and elected member of the
National Academy of Inventors (NAI). He has 30+ years’ experience in energytechnologies and is author of ~200 publications. He is a Lilly Teaching Fellow,winner of the Boston Innovation Prize, winner of the MSU Innovation of the Yearaward, and was nominated for the Katerva Award for the very best sustainabilityinitiatives on the planet. He has been one of the first ARPA-E awardees and in thefirst ARPA-E NSF I-Corps cohort. His technologies won the DOE Prize in the CleanEnergy Trust Business competition and the Breakthrough Technology Award at theClean Tech Open. Teaching Turbomachinery he completed his Post-Doc in EnergyTechnologies at Columbia University in the City of New York, and received his Ph.D.in Technical Fluid Mechanics and his M.S. in Thermal and Hydraulic PowerEngineering from Technische Universität Dresden in Germany.
